Billy Joel has once again lowered the asking price for his Sagaponack home. The four-bedroom, six-bath beach house, which is listed with Biana Stepanian of The Corcoran Group, is now on the market for $18.5 million, according to the real estate firm's website. Joel bought the house as a gift for his wife, food personality Katie Lee. After their split, he put it on the market for $22.5 million. It was reduced to $19.9 million in September. The house once belonged to the late actor Roy Scheider.

"Billy Joel Adds To Oyster Bay Mix As Chamber Members Chat"
By: Dagmar Fors Karppi
(January 21st, 2011)

Partying at Jack Halyard's American Bar & Grill at 62 South Street at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party December 13th, 2010, was a great time to get to know more about chamber members.

The chamber members are very happy that Billy Joel's 20th Century Cycles is located in the hamlet and adding to the mix. Media sources revealed that on November 23rd, 2010, piano legend Billy Joel, was recovering from a double hip-replacement surgery that he underwent the week before at Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

At the grand opening of 20th Century Cycles on Saturday afternoon, November 6th, 2010 at 4:00pm, when the doors opened for an invitation-only cocktail reception, Mr. Joel was using a black metal cane for additional support as he greeted dignitaries that ranged from Congressman Peter King, the Honorable Judge Joseph Covello, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, Town Councilman Chris Coschignano, and Nassau County Sheriff Mike Sposato.

They were all congratulating legendary musician Billy Joel on the successful opening of his new museum and motorcycle shop. The shop will sell motorcycles and accessories and serve as a bike stop for two-wheeled enthusiasts, like Billy Joel himself.

Austin Azzaretto said that Billy Joel's 20th Century Cycles will be a supporter of Cruise Night in 2011. Austin chairs Cruise Nights which run for 22 weeks a year from April to October.

"Billy Joel also supports dog rescue," said Mr. Azzaretto.

Austin volunteers at 20th Century Cycles on Sundays and said, "He's been coming in on crutches after his operation."

Mr. Joel enjoys being just a guy who loves motorcycles when he's at the showroom. Mr. Azzaretto said he doesn't want to give out autographs and have pictures taken while he is wearing his "motorcycle hat/helmet." "That is except when its an older person, someone who is handicapped or children," said Austin who gets along famously with Billy Joel, sharing their interest in motorcycles.

Austin is also no novice to music in that he arranges for the live entertainment that is a regular part of Cruise Nights.

They also share a love of dogs. "When Billy Joel talks to a dog his voice changes: it gets into a doggie voice: a high pitched voice," said Austin.

Film of Singer's Historic 2008 Concerts Closing America's Cradle of Stadium Rock Includes Performances By Guest Artists Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett, Garth Brooks, and John Mayer + DVD/Blu-ray Bonus Duets with Steven Tyler, Roger Daltrey, and John Mellencamp
(January 24th, 2011)

On Tuesday, March 8th, 2011, Legacy Recordings will release, for the very first time, "Billy Joel: Live at Shea Stadium," a full-length music film of Billy Joel's historic shows in July 2008 marking the last-ever concerts at rock's first great arena venue.

"Billy Joel: Live at Shea Stadium" will be available in a CD/DVD set as well as a stand-alone DVD and stand-alone Blu-ray Disc.

The full-concert companion to the acclaimed Lionsgate documentary "The Last Play at Shea," "Billy Joel: Live at Shea Stadium" features more than two hours of Billy Joel and his band offering definitive, and often transcendent versions of hits, rarities, deep catalog, personal favorites and crowd-pleasing surprises including duets with guest artists Paul McCartney ("I Saw Her Standing There," "Let It Be"), Tony Bennett ("New York State of Mind"), Garth Brooks ("Shameless"), and John Mayer ("This Is The Time") along with exclusive DVD/Blu-ray bonus performances with Steven Tyler ("Walk This Way"), Roger Daltrey ("My Generation"), and John Mellencamp ("Pink Houses").

Built in 1964, Shea Stadium was the home of the New York Mets for 45 years. Designed as a multi-purpose stadium, Shea Stadium became the birthplace of arena rock when the Beatles appeared there August 15th, 1965, establishing the ballpark as a pinnacle venue for rock's biggest names: The Who, The Police, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and others have all played Shea Stadium.

Chosen as the last rock act to play the venue, Billy Joel staged his "Last Play at Shea" concerts on July 16th, 2008 and July 18th, 2008, rocking a combined audience of 110,000 fans with one of the most emotionally charged shows ever played at the historic stadium. After 45 years, two New York Mets World Series victories, the arena debut of The Beatles and Billy Joel's "The Last Play at Shea," the final section of Shea Stadium was torn down in 2009.

A broadcast edition of "Billy Joel: Live at Shea Stadium" will premiere on "PBS Great Performances" in March.
